At Amuse Performing Arts Studio, we believe dance education is about more than learning steps. We provide quality training in a supportive environment where students build confidence, creativity and lifelong friendships.
A New Name. The Same Heart.
Amuse Performing Arts Studio began as Sherri’s Dance Center—a place that has introduced generations of Lawton dancers to the joy of movement and performance. While our name has changed, our commitment to fostering a supportive environment and bringing a quality performing arts education to families in the Lawton community remains the same.
Our name was inspired by Voltaire’s words: “Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world.” To amuse means to delight, entertain or bring joy—exactly what we hope the performing arts bring to our students and community.
Within the name Amuse is also the word muse. In Greek mythology, the Muses were the goddesses who inspired creativity in the arts, including music, poetry, and dance. At Amuse, we hope every student finds inspiration, expresses their creativity and discovers the joy of performing.
As we honor our studio’s history, we look forward to continuing to grow alongside our students and families. We care not only about what our students accomplish onstage, but also about who they become along the way.

By dreaming big, staying resourceful, and putting people at the heart of everything we do, we provide 7-star service to our dancers, families, and community. We don’t just follow trends—we innovate, inspire, and have fun along the way. Together, we create things people love and a studio where every dancer feels seen, supported, and excited to grow.
